What’s your refund policy?

We understand that life happens! Please contact our team at contact@everywomansmarathon.com to request a refund and be prepared to provide evidence for the following circumstances. Refunds are granted for the following reasons:

  • Injuries that prevent a participant from safely completing the event. Doctor’s note required, no exceptions.
  • Pregnancy or pregnancy complications

Thank you for your understanding.

Is there an option to run a half marathon?

Will there be gear/baggage check?

Yes, this event will be offering a gear check option for participants. Gear Check will be located at the intersection of Bay St. and Habersham St. and will open at 6:00am on race day. For the exact location, please review the Start Line Village map.

Your bib will include a corresponding gear tag to attach to your bag. All bags will be moved to the finish line, so you can collect your things before heading to the Finish Line Festival—please do not go back to the start line to retrieve your bag. Check out the Finish Line map to find the gear pick-up location. Gear must be picked up at the Finish Line Festival by 4:00pm.

Gear Check will only accept personal-sized bags. No roller bags, suitcases, bikes, scooters or anything larger than a personal bag will be permitted. Athletes with disabilities will be able to check larger items like protheses. Every Woman’s Marathon is not responsible for lost or damaged items.

How is the race timed?

The Every Woman’s Marathon timing system is provided by Brooksee Timing. All runners will receive a bib with the timing tag affixed to the back. Nothing is required of the participant to activate the timing. Please ensure the following to receive an accurate time:

Every Woman’s Marathon will be hosting a virtual marathon challenge through Strava on the weekend of Every Woman’s Marathon. The challenge will be available to join closer to the event. Every finisher will receive a digital medal and have the chance to score a small surprise gift from Team Milk. More details will be shared in the weeks following the completion of the challenge.

registration

Can I transfer my bib to someone else or defer to next year? Is there a waitlist?

We are sold out for 2024! We do not have a waitlist nor are we allowing deferrals or bib transfers. For context, our event capacity is carefully calculated based on an industry-standard no-show rate. This helps us ensure that we can provide the best possible experience for all participants without exceeding our maximum capacity. Unfortunately, this also means that we cannot allow spaces from those who need to drop out to be filled by new registrants or allow bib transfers.

Can I run with a team?

Yes, you can sign up a team or join a team during the registration process. If you have already signed up and want to be added to a team, you can do that in your RunSignUp participant dashboard.

Can men participate in Every Woman's Marathon?

Every Woman’s Marathon is intentionally crafted to celebrate women, not to discriminate. EWM is inclusive of all genders—it is a marathon designed by women, for women, but at the exclusion of no one.

Recognizing the historical disparity in marathon events that have often catered to male runners, this race has been uniquely designed for women, by women to create an environment where female runners feel empowered, supported and acknowledged at the exclusion of no one. Anyone is invited to participate in the event.

expo & bib pick-up

Can someone else pick up my bib and shirt for me?

Participants can pick up one additional bib and shirt but must provide a corresponding driver’s license for each bib and have their confirmation information.

When will I get my bib number?

Bib numbers will be assigned dynamically when you check in at the Expo for bib pick-up.

Can my family and friends join me at the Expo?

The Wellness Fair & Expo will be open to everyone, with the exception of activities like yoga and cooking classes that have limited spots. Friends and family members must be escorted by a race participant to enter the venue. Participants will need to show the QR code from their registration confirmation email to enter.

If the venue reaches capacity, entrance to the Expo may be limited to participants only. We’ll try to accommodate family and friends as best as possible.

course & race rules

Is the course walker-friendly?

Yes, we are very walker-friendly. We ask that you aim to walk around a 17-minute, 45-second mile if possible. Otherwise, we will accommodate you as best we can to make sure you are able to complete the marathon.

How strict is the course time limit?

In order to adhere to requirements set by the City of Savannah, everyone must finish within the course time limit of 7 hours and 45 minutes. This is a pace of at least 17 minutes and 45 seconds per mile.

We’ll have designated course cutoff locations which will be communicated in October, so participants can see what time they will need to be at specific locations throughout the course. We’ll also have pace team members to help support participants walking at this pace. Our team will accommodate you as best we can to make sure you’re able to complete the marathon. You will still receive a medal even if there are sections of the course you do not complete due to the course cutoff locations and the timeline.

What can I bring on-course with me?

Here are some items that you can bring with you on-course:

  • Headphones – You can wear headphones; we just ask that you keep the volume at a level where you can hear race announcements. If you need some tunes for the course, we have plenty of playlists on our Team Milk Spotify account.
  • Hydration pack
  • GPS device
  • Belt bag
  • Strollers – We do allow strollers, but because this is a marathon, we ask that you take the time and distance into consideration when preparing your little one for the big day.

Large bags and prohibited items will not be allowed on-course. Closer to race weekend, please check out the final race weekend information for details on prohibited items.

What nutrition and hydration will be offered on the course?

We’ll have 14 aid stations on-course (approximately every 1.5-2.5 miles). You can find aid station locations on our course map. There will be three stations stocked with GU Liquid Energy Gels in Lemonade, Strawberry Banana and Orange flavors. For hydration, we’ll have water at every aid station and Mortal Hydration Sport Drink Mix in the Berry flavor at nine aid stations.

Will there be pacers on the course?

Fleet Feet Savannah will be your official pace team for the Every Woman’s Marathon. We will have pace groups in 30-minute pace intervals, starting at a 3:30 finish time. Fleet Feet Savannah will be at the Information Booth at the Wellness Fair & Expo to answer any questions, and to help determine which pace group works best for you. One race day, pacers will be holding signs for each of the pace groups. Join your group to keep on track and meet your goals!

Do I have to run the whole course?

We are a walking-friendly event, we just ask that you can walk at least a 17:45-minute mile.

When do I get assigned a start corral? Is there a wave start?

We’ll be using a wave start format with varying time gaps between each corral. This will allow all runners and walkers to have a smooth race start.

Participants will be given the opportunity to self-seed themselves in their preferred corral. Start corrals will have a suggested pace so runners and walkers can find the corral best suited for their needs. We ask that Corral 1 be utilized for runners projected to finish the race in under 4 hours.
